I have an iphone 4 now for about 3-4 years running the last update for ios 6. i was wondering if it's worth it to make the jump to ios 7. my phone time to time likes to restart itself and i believe that it's due to the old age or maybe ios6 itself, and i'm not sure if it would be the best idea to make the upgrade. would my phone be a lot slower. I haven't upgrade to ios 7 yet because some crash and laggy that has been experienced by other iphone 4 owner but i heard this new ios 7.1 has improved performance than ios 7.0 on iphone 4, even not as fast as ios 6.. We updated my wife's iphone 4 on ios 7 launch day, with no problems. the phone works just as it did with ios 6.1.3. it still lags a little. we upgraded to ios 7.0.2 on launch night & bricked the phone. i ended up having to connect to itunes & download the full 1.2 gig of ios 7.0.2. it failed 3 times & only worked on the forth attempt..

If you can’t update wirelessly on your ios device, you can update manually using itunes on a computer that you trust. if your computer is using personal hotspot on the ios device that you’re updating, connect your computer to a different wi-fi or ethernet network before you update. install the latest version of itunes on your computer..
